2-Mercaptopyridine N-oxide sodium salt is a bidentate complexing agent used to chelate transition metals at a pH range of 0.7-7.4. 2-Mercaptopyridine N-oxide sodium salt is also used as a selective absorptiometric reagent in the determination of palladium.
